The Magnolia League

Alexandra Lee is forced to live with her high society grandmother in Savannah, Georgia after her mother is killed in a tragic accident. Alex is far from the Southern debutante society with her long dreadlocks and hippie clothes but that is all about to change when she meets new friends Hayes and Madison. Could it be that under the California baggie t-shirt there hides a well coiffed young woman or is it the dark and mysterious ways of her new surroundings that have changed her? The Magnolia League reveals the mystery of the ML debutantes and their seductive world that upends everything that Alex knows to be true. Will she follow down the path of what is expected or chose to escape?

Finally, a supernatural YA novel that does not have vampires or a government run dystopian society; although, the ML leaders seem to be in control of the events. I enjoyed The Magnolia League for its Southern Gothic charm and character development of Alex. She has a rule breaking attitude but within limits, meaning she excepts opportunities but not blindly. Her character seeks the truth and wants to make things right. The novel is a fast read with a fabulous twist at the end that will leave readers thirsting for more.
