Jacob Reckless always looks out for his little brother, Will, since their father disappeared through the magical mirror. Jacob takes his chances venturing through the mirror where he meets ogres, giants, witches, and fairies. He takes great care never to to be followed by Will, until one day. Will's decision to follow his brother brings about a new adventure of mystery and rescue.
This was not my favorite Cornelia Funke book; however, I really appreciate the prior fairytale knowledge the reader needs to enjoy this novel. I would certainly recommend this one to readers looking for something new but with old tales twisted throughout.
