Grace has always connected with the wolves that inhabit the Boundary Woods. She observes them on the cold winter nights from her bedroom window. One wolf in particular has the most amazing eyes. However, when the warm summer months appear, the wolves disappear. Grace feels a deep connection to the wolves after a close encounter when she was younger. She becomes protective of her winter wolves and does everything she can to make sure they are safe.
Maggie Stiefvater (steve-otter) creates a lyrical love story between Grace and her special golden eyed wolf. This book gives Twilight (Meyer) some competition! Shiver is a definite must read!
